Living in the moment

Oh the article of what happened on her anniversary on my friend Roma's blog is so reminiscent of what happened to us! Children can be quite exasperating! How many of us with children in the terrible 2s and the tricky 3s dread taking the kids out to any place at all - forget a fancy one at that!

But the other day, i read an article by a mom whose children are now grown up and gone. It gave me a different perspective... She has all the time in the world now to think of all the embarassing experiences she went thru as a parent. Sometimes when she feels lonely, she goes back to such memories from the past, regales her younger friends and has a good time. She was at a restaurant once when a young mom burst into tears when her toddler was behaving really badly. Thats when she explained to the mom how important it was to just enjoy that moment and not take it so emotionally. People do understand that children do not understand 5 star etiquette.

Living in the moment and enjoying life, i would say is what all this is about..Like my MIL quotes nityananda: "Be Awake and aware and you will enjoy life".

  1. So true, laxmi. Once the time has gone we think it was great. We really need to live every moment to the fullest.
